OBJECTIVE
The GreenHost project has identified two specific needs in the hospitality management and wider tourism industry that it aims to address: a) Lack of skilled staff, b) Need for sustainability. At the same time, the European Commission approved the Recommendation on Environmental Footprint Methods (2021), to help companies calculate their environmental performance based on reliable, verifiable and comparable information and to provide more environmentally friendly products and services. GreenHost aims to integrate this Recommendation along with green and digital practices into the hospitality and tourism management curriculum and thus help students, professionals and educators to upskill and reskill.
