Celebrating Nine Years of Professional Journey at OECON GROUP: A Conversation with George Tsanis
As George Tsanis celebrates nine years of his professional journey at OECON GROUP, we sat down with him to discuss his experiences, challenges, and the invaluable moments that have shaped his career path.
- How would you describe your professional development since you first joined OECON GROUP?
My professional journey at OECON GROUP has been filled with new experiences and knowledge that helped me grow. Coming from a financial background, I entered the world of European programs knowing only the basics.
What truly captivated me was the diversity of thematic areas required in this field. Working with organizations, start-ups, and scientific teams continuously pushes me to evolve and meet the demands of the job.
- What were the biggest challenges you faced during your nine years with the company?
One of the most significant challenges was collaborating with people from various countries and cultural backgrounds.
This taught me that practices considered normal in one part of the world might be entirely different—or even unacceptable—in another. Developing adaptability and understanding these differences was a critical lesson.
- What is one standout moment from your professional journey at OECON GROUP?
One of the moments I remember with great joy was when my first European project was approved.
This happened within my first six months at the company, and it served as a major motivation for me to continue growing and improving.
- What advice would you give to a new employee starting out in the field of European programs?
My main advice would be to keep their eyes and ears open to both local and international developments and trends.
European programs are directly influenced by these, regardless of one’s scientific background. Staying informed and being adaptable are essential.
